Welcome to the London Police Service electronic record check process. We've created this side of the web site specifically to help business owners, agencies and community groups decide which level of police record check is most appropriate for your employees and volunteers.
We've created a series of videos that will help clear up confusion and misconceptions on the process. The London Police Service currently offers three levels of record checks: the Criminal Record Check; the Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check; and, the Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
We've provided ample information on this website to give you background on all levels of checks and to help you make the correct selection for your employees and volunteers.
We ask that you pay particular attention to the information on the Police Vulnerable Sector Check. It is the most comprehensive of all the police checks and the position must meet a very narrow set of criteria in order for us to process this type of check for you.
Your employees or volunteers must be directly responsible for or working in a position of trust or authority with vulnerable individuals.
By definition vulnerable persons are: children; the disabled, either cognitively or physically; and elderly persons.
We hope you find this information helpful.
Thank you.
