We continue to encourage the use of the online Criminal Record Check application. Complying with required health measures results in a less efficient process and you may experience longer wait times.
Your completed police information check may be sent to you electronically. You will receive email notification with details once your check has been completed.
Monitor your registered email account for further information/instructions while your check is being processed. Ensure to check your spam/junk folders.
Non-electronic certificates will be provided if;
you have charges pending
you have been convicted of a criminal offense
you require fingerprints
at the discretion of the Manager
We are currently processing applications submitted November 21, 2024
Welcome to the Regina Police Service's online process for persons needing a police screening check for volunteer or employment purposes. This system allows you to apply for a police screening check 24 hours a day without having to attend our facility. All aspects of the process - including verification of your identification, and fee payment - are handled electronically.
Please note: You must be a resident of the City of Regina in order to apply through this Police Service. Making a false statement - such as a non-resident declaring a local address at which they do not currently reside - will result in the discontinuation of application processing and the forfeiture of all monies paid.
Please be advised that if you are applying for a VS, you do not need to apply for the CRC for the same position. These checks include the CRC.
Please note: We do not process Criminal Record Checks for Rural Route Regina addresses. You must be a resident of the city of Regina in order for us to process your check with a civic street address. Please attend to the local police agency in your area. You cannot apply on behalf of another person. Authentication questions will be based on the applicant's personal credit file, and the questions are timed to ensure a prompt response and to further enhance security and privacy.
This process is intended for persons living and working in Canada. If you are living/working outside Canada, you should obtain a police check from the RCMP through the submission of fingerprints. Click here for details.
If your application is being used outside of Canada, we are able to process a Criminal Record Check but unable to process a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector (VS).
NOTE: We do not recommend that you attempt to use this system if you:
Have lived in Canada for less than one (1) year, and/or;
Are under the age of twenty-one (21) years, and/or;
Have no established personal credit history - i.e. no credit cards, bank loans, mortgage, etc. - that is required in order to authenticate your ID using EIV
Please be aware of these requirements before creating an account. If you fail to authenticate your ID, you will be required to attend our offices in person with two pieces of identification (one with full date of birth and photo).
There are two levels of screening checks. The type of position you are applying for will determine which type of check you will require. In all cases you should consult with the agency, organization or employer that requires you to obtain a police check to determine which one is needed.
In order to use the online solution, a $9.95 processing / authentication fee will be added to the price of each police background check. This covers the cost of processing the web application and authentication with a licensed consumer credit reporting agency. In the event that you do not wish to pay the convenience fee, you may book an appointment to attend in person during regular working hours to the Regina Police Service located at 1717 Saskatchewan Drive, Regina, Saskatchewan. Appointments can be made by visiting our website at www.reginapolice.ca and allows you to pick a date and time that best suits your schedule.
In many cases, the additional fee to process and authenticate on-line will be a reasonable offset to the time and costs associated with visiting the police facility, including frequent wait times. It also eliminates delays in finding an available opportunity to get to the station.
The Regina Police Service charges a basic fee of $45.00 for a standard criminal record check and an additional $25.00 when applicable vulnerable sector fingerprinting is required. The additional $25.00 is for cost recovery of the equipment and staffing resources required to take and process civil fingerprints. Fingerprints can be taken at 1717 Saskatchewan Drive, Regina from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Excluding Statutory holidays.
The Regina Police Service recommends all Adoption applications to attend in person as they are required to submit their fingerprints to the RCMP in Ottawa.
The Criminal Records Act requires that the RCMP use a process that is different from the process used for a Vulnerable Sector check. The RCMP encourages police agencies to conduct fingerprint based criminal record checks for all applications related to adoptions to ensure they are screened for pardoned sex offences.
A police record check is current as of the date it is completed. It is your employer/prospective employer or organization's function to determine if the record check is current enough to be accepted for the position applied for. The Regina Police Services Board, its officers, agents and employees, shall have no responsibility or obligation to make such a determination.
Incomplete applications (i.e. no identification provided, authentication aborted / failed / not completed or further information requested) and applications requiring in-person attendance will remain in the processing queue for no more than sixty (60) days from the time of initial application. Fees are non-refundable and incomplete applications will be considered 'abandoned', and removed from the processing queue after sixty (60) days.
The Regina Police Service will return the results of the check by mail to the applicant only. We will not mail the results to a third-party organization or employer under any circumstances.
Please note: If you are seeking a 'Local Police Records Check' as part of the Record Suspension (Pardon) application process, do not use an online police check as it is not appropriate for this purpose.
NOTE - you must be 18 years or older to submit a Vulnerable Sector application.
