Welcome to the Regina Police Service's online process for individuals requiring a Criminal Record Check for volunteer or employment purposes. This process allows the applicant to apply for a criminal record check 24 hours a day from the comfort of their own home. All aspects of the process including verification of identity, and payment are handled electronically. If there are no follow-up requirements, the Criminal Record Check documents will be mailed directly to the applicant's home address.
The applicant will need to attend to our Police Headquarters at 1717 Saskatchewan Drive and apply in-person:
- If the applicant is under the age of 21 or;
- Has lived in Canada for less than a year or;
- If they do not live in the city of Regina.
If this is the case, the applicant will need to visit their local police service or RCMP detachment to complete their application.
Please note, if the applicant completes an online application where one of the above situations applies, a refund will not be given.
To complete an online Criminal Record Check, the applicant must first set up a user account. To do this, the applicant will need to click on the Criminal Record Check icon and fill in their personal information.
Once a user account is set up, the applicant will be asked to re-enter their login information. For convenience, account information will be sent to the user by email.
When applying online, the applicant will need to select the appropriate Criminal Record Check, Employment or Volunteer, Vulnerable Sector or Record Suspension.
Once the online application is complete and has been submitted, it will be verified and the payment will be processed.
Verification is performed by our partners at Forest Green and TransUnion, who are licensed consumer credit reporting agencies. Credit information is not shared with police and will be processed only to verify identity.
For the convenience of using the online application, a processing fee will be attached to the final payment. Payment is accepted online using standard online payment methods. Refer to our website for the Criminal Record Check fee structure.
Once verified, the application form is electronically sent to the Regina Police Service where our members will conduct the applicable background checks and prepare the documentation. The final document is mailed directly to the address indicated on the application form.
