Police Information Checks (PIC)
Welcome to the Abbotsford Police Departments online Police Information Check (PIC) application process. This system allows you to apply for a police information check 24 hours a day without having to attend our offices.
Important Information:
- Police Information Check fees are non-refundable.
- You must live in Abbotsford in order to apply. Making a false statement - such as a non-resident declaring a local address at which they do not currently reside - will result in the discontinuation of application processing and the forfeiture of all monies paid.
-
Your PIC RESULTS MUST BE STAYING IN CANADA: Police Information Checks are intended for persons living and working in Canada; the results of these checks must remain in Canada.
- If you are currently living/working outside Canada, you are asked to seek the assistance of the nearest Canadian Embassy or Consulate in your vicinity. If you cannot access the Canadian Embassy or Consulate, you may seek assistance from Canadian Foreign Affairs by calling 1-800-267-8376 or accessing their web site at international.gc.ca. You may also obtain a police check from the RCMP through the submission of fingerprints. Click here for further details.
- Abbotsford Police Department does not offer a "Conviction Only Check" Police Certificate. If you require a police certificate or a check for convictions only, this can be obtained through an accredited private company. If you require a Certified Criminal Record Check, this can be done by submitting fingerprints to the RCMP, Canadian Real Time Identification Services. More information can be found on their website (https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/steps-getting-a-certified-criminal-record-check).
- You cannot apply on behalf of another person. Authentication questions will be based on the applicant’s personal credit file and questions are timed to enhance security and privacy.
NOTE: Due to the online Identity Authentication process, we do not recommend that you use the online process if you:
- Have lived in Canada for less than one (1) year, and/or;
- Are under the age of twenty-one (21) years, and/or;
- Have no established personal credit history - i.e. no credit cards, bank loans, mortgage, etc. - that is required in order to authenticate your ID using EIV
