Applicants With A Criminal Record

A reasonably small percentage of people will have convictions for criminal offences, generically known as 'a criminal record'. This could be for matters that happened many years ago, or for relatively minor offences, and may not be relevant or have any negative effect on their ability to secure a position with most organizations. We encourage employers to give balanced and responsible consideration to the existence of criminal record information, and ensure that any decision on the suitability of an applicant is fairly weighed against the relevance it might have to the position being offered.
