Individuals who fail authentication can send a photo of themselves holding up a form of government issued photo ID by their face (so we can confirm identity) by email through e-mail on the website, we will then be able to complete the requested check
We will not be able to continue processing your application until you verify your identity.
The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service can only complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening for residents of the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc and Mount Brydges.
If you are a non-resident of the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc (or Mount Brydges) you must make this application to the police service that is responsible for policing in your jurisdiction.
If through the process of completing the Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Screening request, the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service determines the home address given is outside the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc or Mount Brydges they will process and complete the Criminal Record Check as requested and charge you accordingly.
However, this screening request will NOT include the Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Welcome to the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service's new online process for persons needing a police record check for volunteer, student or employment purposes. This system allows you to apply for a police record check 24 hours a day without having to attend our facility. All aspects of the process - including verification of your identification, and fee payment - are handled electronically. If there are no concerns or follow ups required, your record check documents will be available by secure download through your online account.
Please note: You must be a current resident of the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc or Mount Brydges in order to apply through this Police Service. Applicants under the age of 18 are not able to use the online process. Applicants under the age of 18 applying for any municipal, provincial or federal government jobs must attend in person at Police Headquarters, 299 Frances Street, Strathroy.
You cannot apply on behalf of another person. The questions used to verify who you are will be created from the information in your credit file. Questions are timed to ensure a prompt response and to enhance security and privacy. It is a criminal offence to apply for a record check on behalf of another person.
This process is intended for persons living and working in Canada. If you are living/working outside Canada, you should obtain a police check from the RCMP through the submission of fingerprints. Click here for details.
NOTE: We do not recommend that you attempt to use this system if you:
Have lived in Canada for less than one (1) year, and/or;
Have no established personal credit history - i.e. no credit cards, bank loans, mortgage, etc. - that is required in order to authenticate your ID using EIV
Please be aware of these requirements before creating an account. If you fail to authenticate your ID, you will be required to attend our office in person with two pieces of ID. Please note that we accept Visa and cash only.
There are three levels of record checks available. The type of position you are applying for will determine which type of check you will require. In all cases you should consult with the agency, organization or employer that requires you to obtain a record check to determine which one is needed.
For Adoption and Non-Parent Custody, and Record Suspension Local Checks please attend at Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service Records Department located at 299 Frances Street, Strathroy.
A police record check is current as of the date it is completed. It is your employer/prospective employer or organization's function to determine if the record check is current enough to be accepted for the position applied for. The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Services Board, its officers, agents and employees, shall have no responsibility or obligation to make such a determination.
Incomplete applications (i.e. no identification provided, authentication aborted / failed / not completed or further information requested) and applications requiring in-person attendance will remain in the processing queue for no more than ninety (90) days from the time of initial application. Fees are non-refundable and incomplete applications will be considered 'abandoned', and removed from the processing queue after ninety (90) days.
The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service will return the results of the check by mail to the applicant only. We will not mail the results to a third-party organization or employer under any circumstances.
